Reflection on ICT as an informative tool.
ICT as an informative tool refers to the use of technology to collect, process, and share information that supports teaching and learning. It allows both teachers and students to access a wide range of information from digital sources such as the internet, television, multimedia, and other online materials. These tools help learners gain factual and updated information beyond what is available in textbooks, making learning more interesting and meaningful. Informative tool is integrated in the classroom to support different learning styles. It improves understanding and retention visual aids,inforgraphic, and multimedia.
From my own understanding, ICT informative tools are essential in modern education because they make learning more interactive, collaborative, and student-centered. They empower both teachers and learners to connect with global knowledge, communicate ideas effectively, and adapt to the fast-changing digital world. Personally, I see ICT not only as a tool for information but also as a bridge that connects learners to endless opportunities for exploration and lifelong learning.
As a teacher, I can use ICT as an informative tool to enhance students’ understanding of a lesson by providing access to real and updated information. For example, when teaching Social Studies on the topic of weather and climate, I can use ICT as an informative tool by showing real photographs and videos of different weather conditions such as rainfall, snow, storms, or sunshine. Using a projector or smartboard, I can display pictures collected from educational websites to show how the weather changes from one region to another. I can also use short video clips that demonstrate how clouds form or how monsoon affects daily life in Bhutan. To make the lesson interactive, students can be asked to use computers or tablets to explore weather websites, record the temperature and rainfall of different places, and compare their findings in class.
This method helps students visualize and understand how weather affects people’s lives, agriculture, and environment. It also develops their skills in observing, collecting, and analyzing information. By using ICT in this way, learning becomes more meaningful and connected to real experiences.
I believed, ICT as an informative tool plays a key role in modern education. It provides access to limitless information, promotes curiosity, and supports independent learning. It also helps teachers present lessons more effectively and motivates students to participate actively. Therefore, ICT is not only a tool for sharing information but a bridge that connects knowledge, experience, and understanding in the learning process.
From this lesson, I have learned that using informative tools effectively requires careful planning knowing what tools to use, why to use them, and how to use them to achieve learning goals. As a future teacher, I want to use multimedia in my lessons in a thoughtful way. I will try to include different types of tools to meet the needs of all students and encourage them to explore, understand, and share information creatively. This lesson has strengthened my belief that ICT is not just a teaching aid, but an important part of making learning interesting and meaningful.
